What a big few weeks it has been preparing for THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN!
I had been working out with Lucy and doing some really hard stuff that tested my fitness, when I was struck by the awful predicament the world’s best tennis players found themselves in, on their own, in LOCKDOWN.
SORT OUT YOUR COURT ISSUES FIRST – THEN THE BALL IS MASTER
I mean who has not had a few bad weeks in their lives? I call that resilience, but I think LOCKDOWN takes resilience to a whole new level. Lets hope those young ones don’t bring their dirty laundry to court.
Make no mistake, when I saw all those tennis players in LOCKDOWN, working out, it reminded me of when I was a teenager having tennis lessons. I loved them and I think I could have been good at tennis had I kept going. Anyway, after seeing those kids hitting balls against windows and mirrors in lockdown, I thought ‘how hard can it be’ and I decided to get into the tennis gig again.
HEADSPACE OF A CHAMPION AND YOU CAN DO ANYTHING
What struck me is that they make it look so easy and to my surprise - it is! It’s as simple as getting a racquet in your hand and hitting the ball. Not exactly rocket science.
So, day one, I decided to follow their lead and limber up a bit. A bit of leaning this way and that, has prepared me for the forehand moves needed to return Serena’s serves. Darling Serena has just realized there are no more ACES for her. Isn't she beautiful and what about that groover Raffa, supporting LOCKDOWN. True champions and now I feel like I am one of them.
All you need girls is the headspace of a champion, some limbering up, and you will join that club and shine like the star you are.
A WINNERS MANTRA - SEND YOUR OPPONENT COCKEYED
If you are afraid to take on our Darling Serena, do not be put off. Just start your journey to greatness by stretching on a regular basis and if running a 100 metres without knocking up isn’t an option, then sit on that court and limber up. In time you’ll want to do more and before you know it you will be running from side to side with forehands and backhands in all directions. Send your opponent cock-eyed and you win. A good way to do this is being ambidextrous with a racquet in each hand. The opposition won’t know whether you are Arthur or Martha. How can you lose?
CHAMPIONS MUST FEEL THEY LOOK GREAT TO BE A WINNER
I hear you all roaring now that the only thing stopping you is that you have nothing to wear. Well even Darling Serena must admit that POSHACTIVE is pretty awesome. Those little Flossy skirts are the ultimate in comfort and ease and just like me they move in every direction. They make you feel like that teenager all over again without looking NAF. I wear my Flossy all the time and I think that is why I am inspired to just keep going.
EYES ON THE BALL GAISY, EYES ON THE BALL!
Keep your eyes wide open for me at THE OPEN. I expect I will be the one holding up that big trophy at the end. I just need to prepare a KILLER THANKYOU SPEECH. Maybe I'll just thank myself for finding Posh Active. Remember it was Posh Active that got me started on my journey to greatness.
